Bull Cozy

If for no other reason, watch this for the music and Olek's victory jump. And think of it the next time you decide a textile task is too big to take on!

A visit to the Texas Cotton Gin Museum. Learned many things about the fiber we love, including that each boll has around 28 hard-to-remove seeds and “gin” is short for engine. (And were your ears burning @third_floor_quilts ? I figured they’d know you. They do.) #cotton #cottongin #textiles #fiber #texashistory
@textileresearchcentre repost-Hari Kuyo is an annual needle memorial festival in Japan, celebrated on 8 February. Tailors, seamstresses, weavers and others who make their living by sewing gather in temples to express gratitude to their needles and to pray for improvement. Bent and broken needles are stuck in soft tofu and placed in a river. The tradition originated in the Edo period (17th to 19th century) when sewing was an essential skill for women. Finished-so satisfying! There’s still time to join the #pinpalchallenge or just make these for the fun of it. I’m definitely making more! Visit @justcarrieintexas feed for more info and check out her Pin Pals book-super fun! #feedsacksredrover #madewithmartingale #pincushions #modafabrics
Stopped at @modafabrics yesterday and was delighted to not only meet @mywanderingpath in person, but to see this @patternsbyannie #travelbag she’d made. I first connected with Anna via IG when she made this from #feedsackstrueblue She’s since made three more bags and was walking some Moda staff through the steps. (That’s @justcarrieintexas sewing away in the back. So fun to see her, @nithaystack @modalissa @jamiechupik Chelair, and more. I feel so lucky to work with these fantastic folks. And how about those bolts of fabric along the back! ❤️)
This @martingaletpp repost of our quilt reminds me warmer weather WILL come

Dreamy blue and white - plus a prairie-point delight! Simply fold and press squares and sew them onto strips to create this pretty take on a two-color quilt. Designers Pam Ehrhardt and Linzee McCray invite you to join them in Moda All-Stars: On a Roll, coming in March. ⁣

@nicolajdodd flatters the heck out of me! Her creative uses of my fabric just knock me out. Visit her feed to check out the amazing uses to which she’s put #feedsacksredrover and #feedsackstrueblue and lots of other fabric, too. These dala horses are the sweetest.
I was a weaver before I was a quilter. Thanks to our basement flood, I unearthed these samples I’d woven. I loved so much about weaving. I’m thrilled to find there’s enough yardage of the cloth in the first photo for napkins. I don’t have much that I wove-sold or gifted most of it-so that’s a treat. #weaving #silverlining #textiles #cloth #wool #cotton #silk
